Hear about the many ghosts that are said to haunt Lichfield and be terrified by gruesome tales of the city's past!

Visit Lichfield’s Gruesome and Ghostly tours are a highlight of Lichfield’s autumn and winter calendar.

The series of ghost walks around the historical city centre are running in October, November and December.

Led by Green Badge guides, the tours take in the Guildhall prison cells, the history of the Market Square burnings, the ghosts sighted at Dam Street, The Close and more city locations.

Councillor Helen Fisher, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Tourism & Communications, said:

“As the nights draw in and the temperature drops, this is the perfect time to discover the dark and mysterious side of Lichfield.”

The walks are rounded off with a visit to a local pub for a glass of mulled wine and a hot sausage roll.

The walks will run from 7pm to 8.30pm on 26 and 27 October and 10, 15, 16, 23 and 29 November and 7, 8, 12 and 15 December 2016.

Gruesome and Ghostly tours need to be booked in advance, and cost £6.25 each. They can be booked at the Tourist Information desk at St Mary’s in the Market Square or by calling the team on 01543 256611
