Lichfield Blues & Jazz Festival!

We’re on countdown to one of Lichfield’s musical highlights… the Lichfield Blues and Jazz Festival -  a veritable feast of blues and jazz entertainment in pubs and venues right across this picturesque city!

Promising a mouth-watering variety of blues and jazz, performed by some of the best known and loved names on the national and regional music circuit, this popular festival is on from Friday June 2nd to Sunday June 4th.

Visitors will be treated to sounds ranging from acoustic and strident Blues, to Big Band Jazz, Swing, Boogie –Woogie and full-on Jazz. The Festival line-up features the Climax Blues Band, Sticky Wicket & his Swing Orchestra, Chris Gumbley & Anything Goes, Remi Harris Trio, Fred ‘T’ Baker, Emma Johnson Boogie Woogie Quartet, Masai Blues,  the 19 piece Dunnett Baxter Big Band, Callum Roxburgh ‘Swing’ Orchestra, Lichfield Jazz All Stars, Blast Off, Lindy Hop dance workshop and a wide variety of music at the angel Inn,Scales Inn and the Pop up Stage at the George 1V pub.

From Festival Patron Roy Wood: “It is great that festivals like this one continue to help and develop local talent as well as giving local audiences the chance to see performers from the national circuit on their doorstep. As musicians we never take our audiences for granted, and we hope that you enjoy the festival, whether it is for one gig, or a workshop, or for the whole weekend, and if you want, bring a friend, because good music is always better when it is shared”.

Visitors can book a  all-day stroller ticket for Saturday 3rd or Sunday 4th June,  so they can dip in and out of whatever venue and musical genre they want to experience on that day…and there is plenty to go for!
