Displays at Lichfield Cathedral prove a huge success!

Lichfield Cathedral was brought to life over the festive period with a spectacular illumination show of nativity-themed projections played across the front of the building.

The magnificent display took place from 19th to 23rd December, while visitors could also take a journey through the cathedral to experience the nativity, walk through a stunning display of Christmas trees and see 10,000 Angels suspended from the ceiling.

Peter Walker – the cathedral’s artist-in-residence and internationally-renowned sculptor and artist – led the project alongside David Harper, who composed the original music for the illuminated show. Peter also developed the 10,000 Angels project for which local schoolchildren made paper angels.

During the week leading up to Christmas, an estimated 20,000 people visited Lichfield Cathedral to see the illumination show and 10,000 Angels display.
