Beacon Park Fun Day success!

Friday August 10 2012

Hundreds of children and their families flocked to Beacon Park on Thursday 9 August 2012 to enjoy the Fun Day and Teddy Bear Games.

Organised by Lichfield District Council, there was plenty of fun to be had, with a range of games and activities, such as arts and crafts, games, and inflatables.

There was also face painting, balloon animals, stalls, a carousel and much more on offer.

The Teddy Arena, where children competed in teddy themed races, was a big highlight of the day.

Children and their favourite teddy bears took part in races such as the Teddy Sprint, Ted on the Head, Hoop a Bear and Teddy Wanging.

The giant teddy - Ranger Ted - also made a special guest appearance.

Councillor Val Richards, Lichfield District Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said: "Beacon Park is such a fantastic place to visit with your family, and the Fun Day was all about encouraging even more families to spend a day outside in our beautiful park. I'm delighted the sun shone and so many people joined us, enjoying all the activities on offer."

There is lots to do at Beacon Park over the summer. On top of a programme of events, on most days children can have a ride on a donkey, a go on the pedalos in the pool, enjoy bouncy fun, a game of crazy golf and lots more.
