What a Wonderful World by The Highly Strung Quartet

This family friendly Sunday morning concert will be packed full of feel-good, fun music. Alongside classical favourites, Vivaldi 4 Seasons, Swan Lake and Clair de Lune there’ll be music from Disney musicals, Teddy Bears Picnic and Somewhere over the Rainbow with lots of opportunities for audience participation along the way. An informal and relaxed event, it is all taking place under Gaia, a spectacular 7m wide illuminated Earth, which is making The Hub its home from May 10 – June 4. Come and see The Hub's wonderful world in all its glory and enjoy an hour of wonderful music played by first class musicians.

The Highly Strung String Quartet was formed in 1997 and is one of the most renowned quartets in the Midlands. This all-female string ensemble has over 20 years’ experience of playing together, mixing classical music with lighter numbers, jazz and popular repertoire. The players all studied at the top music conservatoires in England and have performed widely both in the UK and abroad. As well as live concerts, they have recorded for artists and bands and were a prominent part of the TV programme ‘The Dementia Choir’, performing alongside them with Vicky McClure for the BBC.

The Hub Creative Director, Anthony Evans says: "At The Hub, we pride ourselves on breaking down barriers and being accessible to everyone. The informal setting of The Hub makes it the ideal place for families to come and enjoy music together.
