Lichfield Cathedral welcomed around 2000 children during May and June to an event run by the Cathedral in partnership with the Lichfield Diocesan Board of Education.

Called Inspire, the event had a theme of journeying through space, time and sound.

It also allowed those taking part to reflect upon the wisdom of prayer and stillness, experience the use of music to express community and consider the importance dignity through peace and reconciliation.

This year the Cathedral are also using the Explorerdome, an inflatable planetarium, as part of the activities and this links very nicely to the theme of the year for the Cathedral and the anniversary of the moon landing.

The Cathedral invited children from across the Lichfield Diocese to be inspired for the day through interactive, inspirational, spiritual, reflective and deep learning activities. It was booked out by schools months in advance and has become a very popular event.

The event also gives children an opportunity to experience the wonder of Lichfield Cathedral and meet with Christians and discover how their faith influences their lives.
