Lichfield Blues and Jazz Festival 30 May - 2 June

The fifth Lichfield Blues & Jazz Festival is fast approaching with the line-up confirmed, and programmes hot off the press with tickets selling fast!
Opening the festival this year is superb guitarist Remi Harris making a welcome return on Thursday 30th May Friday May 31st will see the award winning Alison Rayner Quintet at the Cathedral Hotel festival, with  the ever-popular Climax Blues Band - local favourites who delight audiences across the world with their unique combination of jazz and blues starting off the blues programme at Lichfield Guildhall. 
The  blues influence of the Festival continues on Saturday June 1st at Lichfield Guildhall with stunning local performer Robert Jackson, followed by the hard hitting boogie-woogie of Steve’Big Man’ Clayton before the nine piece Chris Bevington Organisation finish off this superb day of blues.
Jazz continues at the Cathedral hotel on Saturday June 1st with popular Midlands Band Tom Hill’s 70s Jazz Funk Machine , next up is two of the uk’s top guitarists Pete Oxley and Nicholas Meier to end the day local trumpet star Nick Dewhurst brings along his band with special guest saxophonist Derek Nash a key member of the Jools Holland Orchestra. 
The festival continues on Sunday June 2nd at the Cathedral Hotel  with ‘The Eagle Jazz Band ‘ presenting a fine programme of classic and swing jazz ,before ‘Fret and Fiddle play the wonderful gypsy music of Stephane Grappelli.
Over at the Guildhall the young and talented South Staffordshire jazz Orchestra present a programme of Big Band music. ,before the blues return in the shape of ‘The Escape Committee’ with their hard hitting classic blues. To complete the blues programme local favourites ‘The Sleaze Brothers’ deliver their unique mix of blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll with a touch of soul.
After a short break the Internationally famous avant-garde jazz-rock band Soft Machine, rated by many as the finest bands to come out of the uk complete the festival.
