Great music in the Market Square throughout the summer holidays

The Hub is launching Summer Sundaes in the Market Square on July 25. It's are rolling out the grass, hanging up the bunting and taking the Coffee Shop and Bar outdoors along with some fabulous free entertainment.

HUM Gospel Choir is one of the most versatile modern gospel choirs in the north, bringing you soulful vocals that will have your hair on end. With many years of performance experience, HUM covers all genres in their own unique gospel style. This is not to be missed!  HUM will be around from 12.30pm.

The Hub's first Summer Sundae will be rounded off with Jazz in the Square, featuring the Elliot Drew Trio, (4.00pm). Led by one of Birmingham's top jazz saxophonists, the Elliot Drew trio will entertain you with a fine selection of jazz standards and well-known tunes. Also featuring local guitarist Tom Morgan and bass guitarist Nick Dewhurst, this will be an ace trio playing some great music!

The Hub Creative Director Anthony Evans says: "We like to offer a little bit of something for everyone at The Hub. We know Lichfield audiences enjoy theatre and music events but often the price tag that comes with them is unachievable. Having these experiences shouldn't be exclusive and the The Hub is about bringing great arts and culture to new audiences, which is why we wanted to be affordable for families and offer it for free. Don't think it means we've scrimped on quality though... these guys are still seen as some of the best in the business."

Other events on 25 July are Maths Madness – stacks of audience participation and some mind-bending mathematical concepts with award winning Kyle D. Evans (11.30am), ’Chain Stories’; a contemporary dance piece following the route taken by the chains manufactured in the Black Country – their beginning in the earth, the people they met and the places they travelled to (3.00pm) and a traditional Teddy Bears Picnic (10.30am).

This is the first of five Summer Sundaes and over the next few weeks The Hub has got some awesome entertainment with Music, Family Fun, Dance, Theatre, Cabaret and Shakespeare lined up for you to enjoy. For all information about each of our Summer Sundaes visit www.thehubstmarys.co.uk
