Samuel Johnson Birthplace

The Samuel Johnson Birthplace on the Market Square will be joining Lichfield Christmas festivities with ‘The Johnson Family Christmas’ on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd December, 11am – 3.30pm. With free entry and something for all ages, the Museum will be hosting a Christmas party with trails, activities and mulled wine. Be transported back in time with the costume of Johnson’s age and beautiful decorations around the historic building. Hear traditional festive tales with Storyteller Christine Genders at 11.30am and 1pm all weekend, and join the Lichfield singers in a carol concert on Saturday at 2pm. On both days children young and old can enjoy spotting some of their favourite book characters in special moving display ‘books alive!’, and take part in creative hands-on activities including card and decoration making, and free face painting on Saturday.
