Dogs will Paws for Remembrance at National Memorial Arboretum

On 9 February 2020 hundreds of dogs and their owners will take advantage of the oppawtunity to sniff around the National Memorial Arboretum, in Staffordshire, at its annual Paws for Remembrance event. This pawesome chance for dog lovers to explore the 150-acre site alongside their four-legged friends is supported by the PDSA.

The Arboretum’s team of volunteers will be on hand to offur information about the Arboretum and the memorials that can be encountered during the walk, and veterinary staff from the PDSA will be on site to provide free MOT health checks for dogs, free general pet care advice, and a range of pet care items for sale.

Happy Hounds High Street will host a range of diffurent pet related businesses from across the country supplying a wide selection of products and services, including pet portraits, pet clothing, and treats.

For humans with a furocious appetite, the Arboretum’s restaurant and coffee shop will be serving a range of hot meals and snacks cooked with local ingredients. The coffee shop is a dog friendly retreat all year round, however dogs are restricted to the large outdoor seating area of the restaurant.

Sarah Oakden, Head of Marketing at the Arboretum, said: “It’s impawsible to fully express our thanks to the hundreds of dog lovers and their four-legged friends who have made Paws for Remembrance such an incredible event since the furst event in 2016, raising invaluable funds to support upkeep of the Arboretum. This year’s incarnation has the petential to be the best yet, however the puns used to market the event are pawsitively pawful.  

“We pride ourselves on being a dog friendly site, welcoming canine companions all year round to pawnder around our designated route. Our coffee shop is also available to serve up light refreshments – Bon Apettreat!”
