Lichfield’s finest establishment for Stand-Up Comedy, is back with The Alter Comedy Club. Priding itself on relaxed vibes, reserved seats and the UK’s finest award-winning acts, the Hub has got another fabulous line up of comedians for you.

Shelf are a comedy double act from South London, made up of Rachel WD and Ruby Clyde. Already lifelong friends, Shelf started out at open mic nights, honing a style that blends standup with musical comedy. They have performed across the UK comedy and festival circuits and their work has appeared on NextUp, LADBible, and on BBC3 with over one million views. They were featured as part of Penguin’s audiobook Edinburgh Unlocked in 2020. Finalists: Sketchfest’s Best New Act 2016; Funny Women 2020; Musical Comedy Awards 2020.

Award-winning musical comedian Kate Lucas is known for her razor-sharp wit and deliciously dark songs. She combines catchy melodies with original lyrics to showcase her playfully bitter musings on life. Audiences have come to expect examples of what not to say and how not to behave from this gloriously talented young comic. She took home the title for the prestigious Leicester Mercury New Comedian of the Year and her performances have been met with huge critical acclaim ever since. Her debut show Whatever Happened to Kate Lucas?  was met with critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a hit Soho Theatre run to follow. In 2019 she presented her second hugely successful show Kate Lucas: Is Selling Herself, again achieving five-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Since his comedy debut in 2014, Eric Rushton has been mixing with the best newcomers on the comedy scene, and impressing audiences with his intelligent, playful material and likeable, self-deprecating stage persona. In January 2020 he won the prestigious 'Leicester Mercury Comedian of The Year' award – an award that was previously won by the likes of Romesh Ranganathan, Jason Manford and Johnny Vegas on their way to stardom. Before that he was a Chortle Student finalist in 2016 and So You Think You're Funny? finalist 2017. He is a regular performer at the UK's biggest comedy clubs and festivals.

Comedian, presenter, actor and writer, Stephen Bailey is a proud northern, working class, gay man. The multi-award nominated star’s indecorous brand of gossipy humour has singled him out as one of the UK’s most sought-after talents for comedy and entertainment formats. Stephen’s credits include co-host on Date or Drop (BBC One) alongside Amanda Holden, Live at the Apollo (BBC Two), The Stand Up Sketch Show (ITV2), Roast Battle (Comedy Central), Celebrity Mastermind (BBC One), The Apprentice: You’re Fired (BBC Two), Love Island: Aftersun (ITV2) and CelebAbility (ITV2). As well as being a prominent talent on the UK comedy circuit, he has also supported the biggest names in stand-up, including Katherine Ryan, Jenny Eclair, Jason Manford, John Bishop and Sarah Millican.

The Hub Creative Director, Anthony Evans says: ‘After our first hugely successful Alter Comedy Club we’re really looking forward to welcoming another line-up of very talented comedians to The Hub. Grab your tickets while you can!’
