Brahms: A German Requiem.
Finzi: Lo, the Full Final Sacrifice.
The Birmingham Festival Choral Society, one of the region’s leading choirs, will perform these two choral favourites on 2nd July. The Requiem, sung in German and with Brahms’ own two-pianist accompaniment, is written for the living, to comfort the bereaved. Finzi’s anthem, inspired by hymns of St Thomas Aquinas, is a lively and beautiful celebration of the Eucharist.
