Lichfield District Council’s tourist information service is temporarily moving to Lichfield Library while St Mary’s in the Market Square gets renovated.

While St Mary’s in the Market Square is being transformed so it can house the new library, Lichfield District’s Tourist Information service is temporarily moving to Lichfield Library on The Friary.

On top of expert visitor information, the Tourist Information team provides travel information, advises on accommodation and stocks guide books and a range of maps. The team can also book local or national accommodation, National Express tickets, tickets for guided walks and city tours and tickets for local events and concerts.

The Tourist Information desk will be located next to the library desk within the library building, where you will also find lots of brochures and guides to attractions across the district and beyond.

Richard King, Director of Place & Community for Lichfield District Council, said:

“We’re looking forward to moving into our temporary home in Lichfield Library to allow St Mary’s to be transformed into a vibrant hub in the city centre. While the works are going on, people will need to come a little bit further to find us in Lichfield Library, where we’ll be offering visitors advice about all the great things there are to do in Lichfield City and District.”

The Tourist Information desk at St Mary’s on the Market Square will be closed to visitors from Saturday 1 April. The service will reopen in its new home in Lichfield Library on Wednesday 5 April, and will then be open daily, Monday to Saturday, between 9.30am and 3.45pm.
