Celebrate St George's Day in Lichfield

On Saturday 23 April from 10am - 4pm, Lichfield will be turning patriotic to celebrate St George's Day with a variety of free events and market stalls on Market Square and Market Street to mark this tradtional day.
There will be the opportunity to watch English Folk dancing, help George hunt for his lost dragon around the market stalls or meet 'Welephant', the mascot for Lichfield Fire Service. In addition there will be story-telling, face painting and live music from various performers. A variety of local organisations including Shakespeare in the Park, will also be present.
The historic St George's Court, an Ancient Manorial Court dating back to 1548, will be held in the Guildhall from 12noon - 1pm. The Court is held in a light-hearted and entertaining manner with the Mayor, as Lord of the Manor, presiding and assisted by the Steward of the Manor (Town Clerk) and is open to the public, everyone is welcome.
