St. Mary’s is set in the city’s Market Square and has undergone an amazing transformation.
On the ground floor is the library and tourist information service, while the first floor includes exhibition and performance space, as well as an access point for digitised archive collections.
The refurbishment work has exposed the church’s original features, 19th century columns, incorporating etched glass screens into the new layout and retaining the altar, choir stalls and pews at the east end as a study area and IT suite. One end of the first floor has a stunning balcony overlooking the level below, its central space is occupied by a flexible performance and exhibition space.
Upstairs there is a space to hire, from live performance to weddings, private parties, dinners or conferences we offer you a beautiful space in the heart of the city.
