Jeremy Hardy returns to Lichfield
18/06/2009
One of the country's sharpest comedians, Jeremy Hardy, returns to the Lichfield Garrick theatre with his new stand-up show on Thursday 16 July as part of the Lichfield Festival.
Jeremy Hardy replaces the previously announced Seth Lakeman who had to pull out due to unforeseen family commitments.
Jeremy is a former winner of both the Best Live Performer at the British Comedy Awards and the prestigious Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Fringe. When he is not touring Jeremy is now a member of Radio 4's News Quiz team as well as regularly appearing on I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, and Just a Minute. He also writes and performs his own series for Radio 4, Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation.
Festival Director Richard Hawley said: "Jeremy Hardy rarely performs in the West Midlands these days, and I'm delighted to welcome him to Lichfield at such short notice.
"I've been inviting Jeremy to Lichfield since I started here, and this is the first time that his diary and the Festival's schedule have aligned, albeit at very short notice."
"This will be Jeremy's first visit to Lichfield since performing as part of the opening of the Lichfield Garrick theatre in 2003. It sold out then. I imagine it will sell out again.
"Don't forget that students can get in to any festival event for £5 on the door subject to availability."
Tickets for Jeremy Hardy can be booked from today at the Lichfield Garrick Box Office, Castle Dyke, Lichfield, by phone on 01543 412121, or online at www.lichfieldfestival.org
