Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum
Discover the life and times of Samuel Johnson, England's greatest man of letters and famous wit. Follow the story of the young Samuel Johnson from his difficult childhood to national celebrity and Dictionary fame.
Experience five floors of exhibits in a beautiful Grade I listed building including period room settings, an introductory film, interactive displays and activities for children. Guided tours and school bookings available by prior arrangement.

Looking for something to do over the Easter holidays? All special offers card holders that take part in ‘Sam’s Easter Adventure’ trail at the Birthplace Museum can claim a free drawing kit worth £2.50! The trail pack costs just £1, and there are activities and competitions available throughout the house too. Entry is free of charge, and the Museum is open from 10.30am – 4.30pm every day.
