A packed month of events as Erasmus Darwin House extends to summer opening hours

Friday March 30 2012

During April Erasmus Darwin House has lots of fun activities on offer, so there's sure to be something that will appeal to everyone! From April the museum will be open 6 days a week Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm (summer time opening).

Currently running until the end of the month is a temporary exhibition entitled 'The Secret Map of Lichfield' which has been contributed to by many local schools and community groups.

There will also be some further opportunities to get involved in this over Easter so check out the museum website www.erasmusdarwin.org for more information.

On Saturday 14 April the museum will hold it's annual Volunteer Open Day. This gives local people a chance to speak to current volunteers about the work they do in the museum and, if they are interested in getting involved, learn more about the volunteering opportunities available. Why not pop in for a cup of tea and a chat any time between 1 & 3pm. Then, at the end of the month, Gillian Crumpton of the Costume Project at Ironbridge Gorge Museum, will be at Darwin House to deliver a fascinating talk on The Changing Shape of Fashion starting with those gorgeous Georgians! This is at 7pm on 26th April. Tickets are £5 and booking is advised.

For more information on any of the above events please call the museum on 01543 306260.
