We welcome coaches
We are proud to have been awarded coach friendly city status by CPT, and were runners up in The Coach Tourism Awards 2012. With excellent parking facilities close to the city centre, we offer the ideal parking location for coach drivers bringing groups to the many attractions in Lichfield City and district.
For your convenience and ease of travel into the city, you can download the map of our coach parking locations at the bottom of this page. On the map you will see there is a drop off point on Beacon Street, close to the cathedral, which provides adequate spaces for two coaches. Please note this is a drop off / pick-up facility only, 20 minute return time restriction, with 24 hour availability.
Following a redevelopment of the area around The Friary, 2 coach spaces have been reinstated, adjacent to the multi storey car park and Premier Inn hotel. There is no charge for these spaces and they are available 24 hours a day.
In addition the Bus Station on Birmingham Road has five bays and coaches are welcome to stay for as long as required. Tickets can be purchased from our Tourist Information Centre. **This has been relocated from it's old home in the Garrick theatre to its new location in the St Mary's Centre on Market Square, postcode WS13 6LG. Please note that the Tourist Information Centre is open from 9.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Saturday.
If you arriving outside of these hours can can book permits in advance, please contact the TIC on 01543 256611 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org

The future of city coach parking in Lichfield City
A new shopping and leisure complex is set to be developed on the site of the Bus Station and the existing multi-storey car park. A date for the development is not yet set, however plans are progressing well. A pre-planning application condition of the development is to establish alternative coach parking spaces, which the team is working on at the moment, further information will be made available as soon as they are up and running. The new spaces will have a CCTV link and will have pay and display machines, so that coach drivers will not need to walk to the Tourist Information Centre for a ticket.
